May 2017: The members of the Ottawa Stroke Program received multiple nominations at the Ottawa Hospital Annual Excellence Awards. Isabelle Martineau was the winner of the Excellence Award in the Working Together category. Laura Dunn was nominated in the Commitment to Compassion category. The Stroke Unit and the Ottawa Stroke Program research team were each nominated for a Team Excellence award.

December 2016: The STRIVE-30, project to lower door-to-needle times has tripled the rate of times < 30 mins in 2016 (46 cases)
November 2016: The second Annual Ottawa Stroke Summit, was a huge success and was run in conjunction with the Champlain Regional Stroke Network. Guest speakers included Dr. Tony Hakim, founder of the Canadian Stroke Network; Dr. Patrice Lindsay, Director, Canadian Heart and Stroke, Stroke Services and Dr. Shazam Hussain, Director, Cerebrovascular Services, Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Ottawa Stroke Program enrolls their first patient into ESCAPE trial. January 23, 2014. Ottawa initiates their involvement in the the ESCAPE trial examining intra-arterial therapy in selected patients.
Dr. Al-Hazzaa, Stroke Fellow, obtains carotid doppler certification. With training received through his fellowship, Dr. Al-Hazzaa was able to obtain certification in reading carotid and transcranial dopplers. January 19, 2014
