RESEARCH

Research

Our goal is to advance Stroke research in order to prevent disability, suffering and death. To achieve this goal, the Ottawa Stroke Program research team works directly with patients from the Ottawa region, and participates in international efforts to treat and prevent stroke. Our patient-oriented research program focuses on stroke prevention, acute stroke therapy, and intracerebral hemorrhage. In addition, we collaborate with our partners in the fields of neuroscience, nursing, allied health, and rehabilitation science to conduct research into stroke recovery.Through excellent research, we hope to save lives, reduce disability, and keep families together.
